Nice video if the owner is only attaching a bike rack or cargo carrier, but what about when pulling a trailer? I don't see a trailer light power jack, nor any instructions on how to make the electrical connections if pulling a trailer.

Why bother telling us to torque it down “to manufacturer specs” if you’re not gonna tell us what the torque values are?

Can trace it from there. You saved me lots of time. Edit: I was too optimistic. Found nothing on the drivers side of my 2018 Forester. Will be removing the tore and looking on the passenger side and then underneath. Okay so I'm lost here. Once you hook up to the left brake light and then you go over to the right side, the green wire only has two clips on it. So how do you plug your brake light back in

This was a lifesaver. The instructions were awful. This clarifies everything and I have a bag full of bolts I didn’t use that were included for alternate installs.

So far, this seems to be the easiest way to wire on a rogue

What is the reason for putting a 30A fuse in the fuse box under the hood if you are putting a 10A fuse on the wire at the back, making it double fused? Is it simply to avoid having to get under the hood to change the fuse if it blows, the 10A would blow first? I put mine on the outside of the back end cover along with the 4wire connector, if it blows it will be easy to access and replace. I also did that so I could have access to remove it if ever I notice that the kit is draining battery power, I saw someone comment about that on a forum and I was initially going to put a toggle switch, but it was getting too complicated and access to put a switch was also awkward. Thanks PS : mine is a Qashqai SV, for some reason Nissan decided to call them that in Canada vs Rogue Sport in USA. They are essentially identical. Also, mine is a 2017, but the wiring is all the same. The kit I used was the Curt 56397 which comes with the proper connector tees that go between the two male/female connectors at the lights. Slightly easier connections there, but the power wire requires crimped electrical gromets, the access is terrible because the existing wiring (beige/brown) that needs to be cut to be able to connect is short.

Took me about an hour and a half to install with no problems. (sorry, I work slow and meticulous). I got the hitch on by just loosening the rear muffler hanger only. Tight spot, but got my fasteners threaded, tightened and torqued. I'm 74, so it was no problem working on a blanket on the ground. Thanks for the info.

Does the wiring is also able for a Hybrid Model? It has baterries in the same spot of where this videos shows.

You didnt mention anything about the two allen bolts that screw in on each side of the lower body. You can see them at 2:00 close to your knee. Instructions say to install, they come in a baggy with a allen tool. Mine cant be screwed inj, theres no threads...

Could you sneak your hand in to loosen the bolts of the bumper bar and wiggle th hitch into place without removing all the plastic or just slightly flex the plastic? Seems like there is enough room.

This is indeed an excellent video. Be advised, this can be a tricky install if you can't get the vehicle lifted. Otherwise, it's a piece of cake with these instructions .

Just installed my hitch, all but one of the holes lined up. So i have 5 of 6 bolts firmly in, but no way to get the 6th in. Will this still be safe?
